Proxy IP blacklist check
Paste a proxy's exit IP and see whether Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda or SORBS has it listed — and what the answer actually means. Free, no signup.
One IPv4 address. Check the exit IP your proxy presents to websites, not the gateway you connect to — on a shared gateway they are different addresses.
What these lists are
A DNSBL is a list of IP addresses that someone has decided to distrust. Mail servers consult them on every message, and a growing number of websites and anti-fraud services consult them too. Being listed rarely blocks a connection outright. What it changes is how suspicious you look: more CAPTCHAs, more blocked signups, more "unusual activity" pages.
Spamhaus return codes, in plain words
| Code | List | What it means for a proxy |
|---|---|---|
127.0.0.10127.0.0.11 | PBL | Normal for residential. The address sits in a home broadband range that should not send mail directly. Nearly every residential proxy is on PBL. It is not a sign of abuse. |
127.0.0.4–127.0.0.7 | XBL | A real problem. The machine looks exploited or infected and is sending abuse. Expect CAPTCHAs and refused signups. |
127.0.0.2 | SBL | A real problem. Known spam source. |
127.0.0.3 | CSS | Snowshoe spam — low-volume spam spread across many addresses. |
127.0.0.9 | DROP | The whole netblock is considered hijacked. Avoid. |
What to do if an address is listed
- PBL only — nothing. That is what a residential IP looks like.
- XBL or SBL — stop using it for anything that matters. On a rented proxy you do not control the machine, so delisting is not yours to do. Replace the address.
- Several lists at once — the address has a history. Replace it.
Checking before you buy
Most proxy sellers mask the exit IP until after payment, so you cannot screen it. That is the gap this page exists to close: if your seller will show you the address first, check it here before you spend.
We screen our own stock this way before delivery — every address on our verified tier is checked against all four lists, and anything on XBL or SBL never reaches a customer. See how VeilSocks works.
Questions people ask
Does a blacklisted IP stop working?
Not by itself. The connection still opens. What changes is how often you meet a CAPTCHA, a block page, or a refused signup.
Can I get an address removed?
The lists have removal forms, but a removal only holds once the cause has stopped. On a rented proxy you do not control the machine, so replacing the address is almost always faster.
How often should I check?
Before you start, and again if CAPTCHAs appear. Listings change daily; last week's result says little about today.
Why does the result sometimes say "could not check"?
Because it would rather admit that than guess. The lists refuse queries that arrive through public resolvers or over quota, and a refusal looks nothing like a clean answer. When the checker cannot get a trustworthy reply it says so.
